Who may be suitable?
A weight management consultation may be appropriate for adults living with obesity, or adults who are overweight and have weight-related health conditions. The MHRA authorised Mounjaro/tirzepatide for weight management in adults aged 18 and over with a BMI 30 or more, or a BMI 27–30 with weight-related health problems, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Treatment decisions should always be made by a healthcare professional. You may not be suitable if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, have certain medical conditions, or take medicines that need extra review. NHS England also notes that a healthcare professional should explain benefits, limitations, and side effects before prescribing
